Current Responsibilities Mr. Smith is a Retail Broker specializing in agency leasing and tenant representation in the Dallas/Southwest market. On behalf of shopping center owners and investors, he is responsible for developing and executing leasing strategies to maximize each property’s full potential. Additionally, he helps retailers identify and secure optimal locations to reach customers and drive value for their organization.
Mr. Smith has strong local market knowledge and retail experience to help clients meet their overall asset and business objectives. Due to his experience in agency leasing and tenant representation, Mr. Smith has been able to develop and maintain strong retailer relationships at the national, regional and local level.
Experience Mr. Smith has 21 years of experience in the real estate industry and has completed over 150 transactions worth an estimated gross value of $200 million. Prior to joining JLL, Mr. Smith and his business partner, Lance Taylor, created the retail platform at Stream Realty Partners and grew that business to over two million square feet of management and leasing assignments. During his career, Mr. Smith served as Director at the Archon Group, a Goldman Sachs Company, and was responsible for overseeing the leasing programs for 2.6 million square feet of new development projects. His previous experience also includes working in agency leasing roles at United Commercial Realty and Tricor Realty.
Education and Affiliations Mr. Smith earned a bachelor of arts degree in business and finance from Austin College. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and a licensed real estate broker in the state of Texas.
